What is iniquity

What is iniquity?

Iniquity in Greek , anomia (ἀνομία) means lawlessness, iniquity, disobedience, sin

nomía/nómos = law  A = No/without/Against so, A+Nomia (ἀ+νομία)= Without law;

Law is the torah. So, iniquity means transgresses the torah, the law:

"Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law"

1 John 3:4

Πᾶς ὁ ποιῶν τὴν ἁμαρτίαν (sin) καὶ τὴν ἀνομίαν (Iniquity) ποιεῖ καὶ ἡ ἁμαρτία ἐστὶν ἡ ἀνομία

The word Iniquity there is in anothers verses in the new testment:

"And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity"

Mathews 7:23

"The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity"

"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold"

"Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered"

Romans 4:7

"I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as you have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity to iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness to holiness"

Romans 6:19

"Be you not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness?"

2 Corínthians 6:14

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin (The man of Iniquity) be revealed, the son of perdition;"

2 Tessalonicenses 2:3

"For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now lets will let, until he be taken out of the way"

2 Tessalonicenses 2:7

"Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works"

Titus 2:14

"You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows"

Hebreus 1:9

"And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more"

Hebreus 10:17

So, many Christians make iniquity because they live no law.

And, how about The Christ is the end of the law?
